Doro can help you convert any type of printable documents into portable document format (PDF), probably the most widely used format nowadays.
This tool actually installs a virtual printer, which means that you can create a PDF from any application that lets you print a file. Therefore, the program´s interface is actually not very different from that of a printer’s dialog box. It has three tabs, the first of which lets you enter such document properties as title, author and keywords. The second one is intended to set encryption parameters, such as copy and print protection. The third tab lets you check for automatic program updates.
All in all, Doro works just as its developers claim. It can convert documents into PDF without altering their appearance. However, it has the limitation of not allowing you to decide on important parameters, like resolution, scale and compression. Moreover, it can’t be used as an independent desktop application. You should also know that this program is absolutely unneeded for Word documents conversion if you’re using one of the latest Office versions.
Pros
- It’s easy to use
- It supports encrypting PDF
Cons
- It doesn´t have a desktop application
- It has the limitation of not allowing you to decide on important parameters, like resolution, scale and compression
- It doesn't allow for saving conversion profiles
Great, never fails. Resulting file preview can be turned off or on. Essential tool.
